I made this altered tin for Dawna's mixed media swap. My parter was CJ. I made the top using texture paste through a stencil and then embossing the entire cover with 3 layers of bees wax embossing powder. The result was a thick smooth, waxy looking surface. Thanks to Carri for the tip on the embossing powder. She used it on a card she sent to me a few months back and I ordered some right away. I painted and distressed the tin with layers of acrylic paint and hinged the top to the bottom. I fussy cut the butterflies from G45 Nature Sketchbook Collection and double embossed them with clear or beeswax. I did the same for the butterflies on the inside cut from Olde Curiosity Shoppe. I made the small fake book on the inside with paper from the g45 Botanicabella collection, chipboard, and cut pieces from old book pages. Love the way this tiny book turned out. I have already made a few more for other projects. The little vial once held old watch parts.

Thanks for looking. I appreciate your comments.
