This layout was supposed to be one of my HOF entries, but since Ive decided not to enter this year, I can share it. The assignment was to journal your passion.

Journaling reads: Growing up I always dreamed of becoming a teacher. I loved to play school with my cousin. She was always the student and I was the teacher. When I grew older the realities of life set in and my dreams of heading a classroom were put on hold. I felt as though I had failed myself. When my son was born my dream felt even more unreachable. He needed me, and there just wasn't enough time to think about what I wanted for myself. One day as I sat playing with him in his room, I picked up a book and started to point out the different colors. I realized something. Even though I hadn't finished my degree, the moment he entered the world I became a teacher. IN an instant it became my jobn to teach him, and to inspire him to be a great man. Right now he is so young, the lessons are simple. THings like learning numbers and how to use the potty. I know that in the future teaching him will be a lot more difficult, and that we will both be tested on more than one occasion. I know it will be worth it. I don't know for certain that I will ever get the chance to teach in a classroom. I hope that I do, but if not Im O.K. with it. I know now that teaching is about so much more than grading papers and writing on a chalkboard. It's about preparing our children for the future, and I can't think of a better place to start than with my own
