My inspiration for this card came when I decided to use the succulent garden dies (Creative Expressions by Sue Wilson) and thought it would be interesting to create a flower pot for the paper plant that looked like it was coming out of the front of the card. I chose a corner pop down (or up, as some call it) style card, a design I had seen here (https://pinterest.com/pin/23784704267500831/?source_app=android) on Pinterest. I die cut the succulent leaves using Bristol Smooth cardstock then inked them using Distress Oxide inks in Evergreen Bough and Cracked Pistachio as well as gently sponged Seedless Preserves Distress ink on the tips. I shaped the pieces and assembled the succulent then set it aside while I created the flower pot. I die cut several rings using two nesting circle dies. I also cut a piece of stone print cardstock with the larger of the two circle dies. I started layering the rings and at the half way point added the stone print circle before adding the rest of the rings. I then covered the ‘pot' with rust colored cardstock and lightly inked the edges before affixing my succulent. I added this piece along with a twine bow and tiny tag to my card front - deep purple paper die cut with Lawn Fawn's Quilted Backdrop die layered over a piece of cardstock inked with Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide Ink. I had already cut a circular opening in the center of the front and when you open the card, the layer with the succulent flips down to lay flat (please see second photo).
