**NOTE: The photo used on the layout is blurred because I did not take it & don’t own the rights to it. It was taken by, and is owned by, a third party photography company (basictrainingphotos.com), that works with the military (or at least the Army) to take photos of new trainees during their basic training. All I have is a “license” allowing me to use it for “personal use only,” and am strictly prohibited from sharing it on social media. I got lucky, they managed to take a VERY awesome photo of my youngest during the “Conf[idence] Course.” (And believe me, I got lucky, this is my second child to go through basic training, and well I have some of my oldest, I consider it good fortune that the stars aligned just right for my youngest and a photographer to be in the same place at the same time!) And, for the record, it’s a particularly awesome shot because the photographer is looking up at my youngest.

Challenges:
-Music Inspiration Challenge: The song picked for me was "Angels Fall" by Breaking Benjamin. I just so happened this photo was taken shortly after the start of the challenge and I knew I had a plan! (I did edit the photo to fit the direction I was going with the LO [crop & filters]). I was originally inspired by the line, "I can't give up, I can't give in," but when I came across the "never give up" in my TH small talk booklet I decided to improvise. It works better for DS2 also because he has wanted to join the military since he was 13 or so but he faced potential disqualification because he has gone through two eye surgeries (one at 14 and again at 17). We weren't sure if he would be able to get the medical waiver or not. He never gave up on joining the Army, and when we talked about the possibility of his eye being an issue he said he had to try.

The BG pp is from BFS "Tattered Walls," and it is on top of some Core'dinations "Chocolate Box" I've had for all eternity...or something close to that :p ;ReneaBouquet Beautiful Board "Grid Elements;" Creative Embellishments gears; Prima Rust Pastes; Distress Oxides; Baked Textures; Wendy Vecchi Rectangle Collage Stamp; Echo Park "Beach Towel" stencil; Prima Metallic "Rustic Brown" paint
