This is outstanding! The cross stitched Santa is wonderfully done. I love the holly and ribbon trim. Such a special and beautiful card! You did an amazing job of the lift!
This card was inspired by sketch #2 of the October Card Sketch Challenge and the lift category of the October 2018 Inspirational Card Challenge. For the lift category, we were supposed to pick an inspiration piece from the Sb.com article called "18 Best Cards of 2018". I was inspired by the card made by Leigh Houston which was #17. I selected a template cross from a pattern book I have called 365 Designs:Cross Stitch All Through the Year by Sam Hawkins. I used the # 342. I did change the colors just to fit the floss I had. Because I since I don't like to make french knots and because I was using paper as my backing, I decided to try using some mini brads, for Santa's eyes instead. I liked the look and so decided to use brads again with some ribbon to create a border to the left of Santa. The spacing and placement were easily done with holes in the die. The brads were by Basic Grey. I also decided to add the "Ho Ho Ho" lettering. They were a simple design that I was able to place and create by myself. All papers used are unknown.
Of course, although I have to make Christmas cards throughout the year (because I make a lot of them), I won't be sending this one out to its recipient (a friend and Santa lover) until closer to the holiday.
