I met Gene at MEPS when we were both enlisting in the Air Force in 2001. We both went into the Delayed Entry Program our senior year and we planned on shipping it together. We dated through the end of senior year. After we shipped out, we kept in contact with each other and stayed friends. Fast forward to 2009 - I thought I found him on Facebook, only to find out from his Dad that Gene passed away in September 2008 from a brain aneurysm. I cried non stop for 2 weeks. I still tear up when I think of him.

I made this page for the October Music Inspiration Challenge. The song given to me was "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton. I struggled a bit this song. Nothing I came up with worked out.
