Rob, I just came across this page again and thought I'd drop off an idea I have.
What I do if I come across an idea, and technique I hope to remember it next time, I write it down on a post it note and attach it to ibe if the inks or one of the inks or pp. Hope this helps. Again this is an unbelievable gorgeous card.
Love how it opens out and you can view the entire card. Beautiful. Will say a prayer for your family. Not only your second mom but also her husband. That is an ordeal to get over.
I've fallen in love with your gatefold cards, full of gorgeous colors, textures and details, and this one is just gorgeous with the blues and nature images. But what makes it jaw-dropping "wow" is the belt with that so awesome owl, the perfect finishing touch!
Rob your gatefold card is beautiful. I love the way you plan your papers, embellishments, etc. you use quality products in your creations. You are so professional and I love the stunning colors.
From front to back & inside this card is amazing RR. Wonderful colors, papers, design & that owl is such a perfect touch. How awful for your extended family. Why can't people play nice??? I hope your second mom is doing better!
Fantastic card. I love how you incorporate all the wonderful textures, I have collected owls for some 50 years, so you had me at the owl. Your artistic ability just shines.
Where do I start? Oh my goodness child. I have a question: do you have your paper pre-cut, so it doesn't take too long to make your awesome cards? What a super nice collection of the G45.
Hi everybody! So this is a card made for my "second mom" (some might say my aunt by another grandmother). While her husband was dealing with the aftermath of being attacked in a Wal-Mart parking lot she was having surgery on both her hand. So she spent the next couple weeks with her hands in foam blocks (I honestly can't imagine). Talk about stress for the whole family. I have never seen Jill (her daughter/my sister from another mother) so stressed out. She always plays the strong unshakable type. ANYWAY, the majority of this is G45's Nature Sketchbook collection. A sheet of Bazzill grasscloth textured cardstock (love love love their cardstock, especially the grasscloth textured paper). Now their paper is not as heavy as thick as some paper, but it is a thin (a little thicker than index style paper) heavy weight paper. Paper weight it s a funny thing... I used Tim Holtz ink in Vintage Photo, Faded Jeans and Broken China. I distressed the paper in most cases first and then inked. With some of the paper I applied BOTH the Faded Jeans AND the Vintage Photo (loved the final result). The owl is a Button Snap that I got from China (I need to get more if I can find them). I used some clear embossing powder hither and thither and it just totally didn't show. I mean it barely ever showed even when the light hit it. So I took TH's Broken China ink and used a dobber rub over it a little here and there. It created a fantastic effect and I hope I can remember it! Not much else to say! Thanks so much for looking everybody :)
