In memory of Veteran's Day this is Harold Stanley McCoy's letter to his aunt Rosa and Allie (the ladies in my last two LO's) while he was training during WWI. The letter, lucky for me, was published in The Tennessean, Nashville, TN. In it he describes his training and then he says that he wants for nothing because the military is taking all they need. He knows that they will have "meat-less days". He asks that they are saving and careful with their food and to buy bonds to support the war effort. WWI is when the term "Victory Garden" was first used and when the Flanders Poppy first became a symbol of men who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. That's an interesting story in itself. Harold Stanley McCoy was not killed in action. My next LO will be about the rest of his life which is also interesting.

BG paper is Authentique Heroic Collection
