Hurricane Michael has been VERY tough. I grew up on the panhandle of Florida so experienced MANY hurricanes and tropical storms, but this was more like a 90 mile wide tornado hit our sweet city. Going through it was the scariest thing I've ever gone through. Surviving it has been EXTREMELY exhausting, as it will require at least 6 months before life can get back to any semblance of normal. But if you're paying attention, there are incredible blessings... people coming together that didn't speak before, and people giving to others that have lost almost everything. How people manage isn't always in direct proportion to the amount of damage they have. This friend's house (she lives there with her daughter) was soaked on the entire inside, almost all of her belongings were lost or damaged, she will be displaced for at least another few months (maybe 6), yet she has remained faithful to God, even sometimes through tears. She even paid for dinner (secretly) for a group of about 8 volunteer men who are here to help from an out-of-town church.
Threw together a quick card, using various items from my stash, trying my hardest not to ink everything. Lots of Anna Griffin products & misc Christian scrapbooking pps cut up. Used Kiwilane.com heart template on front message.
Whatever storm you may face, know God loves you with an everlasting love...and is always waiting for us to reach out for His strength, peace and anything we might lack. I have never before been more aware of my human frailty, but have also never been more aware of His ability to give me joy...even while in the middle of the storm.
