Sailing has contributed to many great explorations in the world. As well, throughout history sailing has been instrumental in the development of civilization, battles/war & trade. As we know the history of sailing through the vast treacherous ocean waves its exact origin is unknown. The lateen sail is the earliest-known fore-and-aft rigged sail and was in use in Greece in the first century BC. The evolution of the sail has been going on for thousands of years after that. I just love sailing boats, each and every one old or new always has a story to tell and great memories to hold. My scrapbook is all about that, how sailing drove long lasting battles to bring freedom to all who dare adventure the rough seas and still somehow live to tell the story.
