Silent Battles: Grief by Rachel Jefferies and Studio Basic

Journaling: One year ago today was the last day I saw you alive. You had already been sent home on hospice care. I knew we wouldn’t have you much longer. You had already decided that it was your time.
We gathered at your house. You mostly slept while the rest of us cried and sat vigil. If you only you knew how much you were going to be missed.
When we were leaving I woke you up. I sat down next to you on the bed and made sure you heard me when I told you I loved you. You looked at me and told me you loved me, too. I will never forget that moment. It was almost like you were telling me goodbye in your own little way.
I hope you know how much you meant to me. I hope you know how special you were to all of us. I hope you know that I love and miss you so very much.
