I made this art journal for Carri. It was kind of a birthday gift but I was actually making it for her before I realized it was her birthday. The cover is made from cardboard, plaster gauze fabric, and bees wax. The journal pages are watercolor paper, which I know Carri likes to create with. The deckeled edges of the paper are really beautiful. I sewed the pages together with linen thread using Coptic stitch. I made the tie and shaker embellishment detachable so she could lay the journal flat when doing a layout.
