Lo for our monthly challenge on Rockin Scrappin Grans. We were to use the title A Season of change and Spring colors.
Journaling:
This is my best friend Carole Pankratz.
We met when teaching at Shirland
School in 1972.
We would meet at Bergner’s Dept.Store almost every Saturday. We always said, “what we do without
Bergner’s?”
It happened. April 19, 2018 the chain announced bankruptcy. Our beloved store was going out of business.
With Bergner’s closing, it has caused Change in how often we go to Cherry Vale Mall, how we shop and even where
we park!!
Enter the bigger, scarier world of retail Change. So many stores are closing. It used to be that when a store closed, it was fairly certain a new store would go in. That is not true anymore. The Mall is becoming a ghost town. Everyone blames the internet and ordering online.
We hate ordering online. We want to see it, feel it, and try it on. We don’t want the hassle of returning an item.
This season of Change is not welcomed by long time shoppers like Carole and me.
