This is gorgeous Elizabeth. Love how you have framed the photo. It feels like you could step through the a door and be in the land of oz or wonderland.
Oh those lovely bluebonnets: they show up every spring in lots of stunning layouts like this one. I love those RB dragonflies too (I'm still hoarding mine ;-).
I would say you used the photo perfectly as it all blends together so beautifully. I hope you sent the photographer a picture of this lo to see how gorgeous it is!:)
I have only one word for you...stunning. You started with an amazing photo and accentuated it with your creativity. I know the artist will be thrilled with your own work of art. I'm in awe of your artistry.
This picture was shared on my Facebook timeline and I loved it so much I asked the photographer, whose name is Jason Weingart, for permission to use it on a layout. Here's how he described the picture: "Sunset tonight over decommissioned, bluebonnet-lined railroad tracks in the Texas Hill Country". He took the picture March 23rd. He said to "go for it"! I hope I did the picture justice.
The journaling is an excerpt from the poem "The Bluebonnet" by John P. Sjolander, written many years ago.
For the layout I used 49 & Market Sweet Reflections papers. The frame I diecut to use over the picture has a solid center so after I cut it, I used washi tape to attach it to the die then used a craft knife to cut out the center of it so it would be a frame.
I also used washi tape on my stencil to cover most of the sections I didn't want to use for my "bluebonnets" under the picture. During the night when I was awake, I thought to myself, bluebonnets have white in them so I dabbed the wooden end of a small paintbrush into some acrylic paint and dabbed the white on the tips of the flowers.
My husband found the moss out by our driveway that I tucked in under the larger diecut.
I used seven different stamps on this, as you can see, including the tiny bits of grass and leaves.
Gorgeous dragonflies are from Reneabouquets. The last thing I did was cover my picture and then lightly sprayed it all with Tim Holtz Antique Bronze Distress Mica Spray. I really like that stuff and it's so much easier to use than my colored sprays. I then added the little pearls here and there.
