I love antiques and this is the story of how I got several of my scrapbook storage pieces.
I love my scrapbook storage. I have some very cool and unique pieces that I have managed to collect over the years.
My first piece is an antique pharmacy shelving unit from the early 1900’s. It is a cool piece with narrow drawers/shelves that pull out and turn sideways. I found it at an Antique show in Allegan, MI. Vince was the one that spotted it and when I found out it was a pharmacy antique, I thought how perfect. We had no way to get it home so we put down a deposit and picked it up later, the gentlemen lived in Michigan city, IN.
The largest and most valuable is a large haberdashery case that is form the same era if not earlier. I was searching for another case similar to my pharmacy case and found this online at Sydow antiques in Indiana, I fell in love with it and so Vince and I purchased it we had it delivered as it was so large and heavy and we had movers place it upstairs.
My Humphreys cabinet has an interesting story I was at a general auction with Vince and saw one. Humphreys was a company that made herbal and pharmaceutical products for many years and this was a display cabinet that would sit on the pharmacy counter. The customer would come in and request the item they wanted then the pharmacist would give it to them. I liked it but thought it to pricy. I let it go. Late I regretted it and started searching at every antique show and auction we went to. Finally, years later one in good condition came up at auction and I purchased it.
I purchased an old pharmacy label case at an antique show in Ohio to hold my ribbon in. I purchased some old clothes pins and an old wooden cheese box on eBay and wrapped the rest around the clothespins and stored some ribbon that way as well.
I purchased some cool old mason Jars in various colors some were irradiated and some were died that color and I keep my buttons in those.
No pictures but I also have an old watch case that I keep small pieces like brads and such.
