I love your papers and the bling! I am almost 100% positive I ate at Mary Mahoney's in 2005 with a group of my red had chapter ladies. The name is so familiar, it sounds like the place - the name of the restaurant rings a bell loud and clear in my head. I remember asking the waitress if the restaurant was haunted, since it was so old and had such a history. She started telling me it definitely was and then told us a few things that had happened to some of the staff and her personally. Even pots jumping off the hangers and crashing to the floor - she witnessed that several times. Staff would be in the kitchen alone at night.
LOVING the paper choice. It is colorful just like the Mardi Gras costumes. What a shame it closed. I hate when a historical place goes by the wayside. I bet they give the costumes to the museum in Bay St. Louis. They have a bunch of costumes too. The gold doilies were the perfect accent.
Page 1 Journaling: Our last stop on the tour is the historic Magnolia Hotel which houses the Mardi Gras museum. We are given time to tour the museum which features wide displays of elaborate costumes for the Mardi Gras festival. There is also time to check out Mary Mahoney's Old French House Restaurant & courtyard. Some people decide to stay for a late lunch. Note: I have since read that the hotel was sold & the museum is closed & looking for a new location.
