One of my coworkers asked if I could make a card for his lady friend's B-Day. He wanted butterflies and hummingbirds since those are favorites for her.
I decided to make a step-up using a Sizzix die I don't use enough. I didn't want to use the hearts featured on the die though as a background because I didn't want to be too romantic since I'm not sure how appropriate that is. So, cut that part off and replaced them with clear plastic pieces cut from a recycled food clam shell. Also, I decided to add an extra mat of purple cardstock to the back of the patterned paper pieces in each section. The L shaped one was a bit of a challenge to cut correctly.
