I think we all have days that stand out in our hearts and minds as some of our best. One of those days, for both my Mom and I was quite a few years ago when we visited Rochester, New York and attended their Lilac Festival. I created this easel box card for my Mom as a reminder of that special day. I used a combination of Stamperia papers from their Lilac Flowers and Provence collections. Each lilac has many small blooms that were die cut, spritzed with water, then shaped. I first created a base then layered more and more blooms to give the flowers dimension. I added a brushing of Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to the flowers and the box. I digi printed my sentiments, a quote I like from Winnie the Pooh (A.A. Milne) and the 'Happy Mother's day' greeting you see when the easel card is standing up. The sentiment strips were lightly inked with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink to better match the background paper. I fussy cut the butterflies and covered them with Wink of Stella. I also traced over all the words on the card frame and box with Wink of Stella (I have yet to find a way of having that show up in my photos). The box beneath slides open to reveal a hand written note and photos from our trip.
Thank you so very much for your kindness and encouragement. It means a lot to me!
