Journaling reads: We woke up this morning and ate some breakfast then went into Jacob’s room to play when we heard Annie jumping at the sliding glass door window. When I went in to see what she was jumping at, there it was: falling down out of the sky. thick and white and fluffy. enticing for a little boy. “oh Mommy, let’s go! Oh, Oh, where’s my snow boots?” I didn’t even see him this excited on Christmas morning… ‘Okay,’ I thought. ‘Just for a little while.’ So we went out. And we stayed out. For 2 hours… Red cheeks and happy as can be to be freezing. He named his snowman “Frosty”. He wanted to eat his carrot nose. For 3 days after this day, he checked to see if Frosty was still outside or if he had melted yet. It was only a skiff of heavy snow, but to my little boy it was a winter wonderland.
The story behind how I took the picture of the "2007" is kinda funny. I sat my hot coffee mug down on our deck banister. When I picked it up I thought "Ooh. How cool. A perfect circle." Then the wheels started turning and I thought "I could incorporate this into something on one of my pages for winter this year.." So I made another circle and used my finger to draw the 2 and the 7. Quirky, I know. But I like how it turned out.
