I recently discovered that a friend of mine loves Laurel Burch artwork. She had a lovely Laurel Burch tote bag. I have two Laurel Burch stamps so I decided to use one to make her birthday card this year. I was going to go pretty much with the color scheme I saw online—rusts and oranges, but when I pulled out my Twinkling H2Os, I picked out other colors. I was going to stamp one image and create a simple background, but my painting went out of the lines so I needed to fussy cut the image. I ended up making a card that is similar to the one Fran Seifert posted on the Stampendous website. Thank you, Fran for the inspiration.
I chose to use heavy cardstock instead of watercolor paper because the watercolor doesn't soak in as much giving the image almost a stained-glass effect.
The background is one I made a long time ago. It is so vivid that, until now, I couldn't find a good way to use it.
