So this is the first layout I've actually completed since last summer. It feels good to be back at my scrap table after such a long hiatus, but I've learned that my life allows scrapbooking in fits and starts, and I have to just make the most of when it lets me. One of these days, I'll catch you all up on my adventures, but today is about this project.

The product is all from my Anything Goes Counterfeit Challenge from way back ... gonna say last August maybe. I pulled together a bunch of page kits, put them into individual 2.5 gallon ziplock bags, put those into a plastic tub and they've been sitting there ever since. I knew eventually I'd get back to them, and it was like a surprise party pulling this one out of the bag.

The kit already had a sketch in it, so it was simply a matter of figuring out what went where and what parts belonged with this fantastic photograph which I've had on my creative burner since last March.

Younger daughter has moved to Colorado Springs for school this fall, but last March we went out together to do a little recon to figure out where things were and what might be possible in terms of jobs, apartments, the school, and how the city was laid out so she'd know how to get around as soon as she arrived.

She's majoring in zoo and wildlife management, so while we were there, we visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, which is on the national top 10 list of "must see zoos in America." It's not big, but it's a really nice zoo, and we had a great time together.

This is her and Abuto - separated only by a wall of glass. He's looking out at the females in the neighboring enclosure. She looking out at her future. I think they look equally focused and ready to pounce on whatever opportunity presents itself!

Thanks for taking a peek at my little project. Hopefully it won't be the last one for a while. I have 8 more page kits sitting in that plastic tub still waiting for me to get focused myself.
