Repurposed Suitcase

Where to start....about a year ago I rescued this old Samsonite suitcase from the burn pile where my husband had tossed it. I thought at the time, I could do something with it. I brought it to my Craft Palace and it sat in the little bathroom for a long time. The Samsonite suitcase originally belonged to my husband's older brother, who was a Green Beret and killed in the Vietnam war.

After looking through gobs of pictures on Pinterest, and finally having the spare time, I started on this project about 3 weeks ago.

I decided to decoupage the outside with Stamperia's beautiful Provence and Lilac Flowers Collections since lavender/purple is my favorite color and it would compliment some of the decorations in my Craft Palace. I decided I would use it to store my laces and other goodies, if room.

I posted 6 collage pictures of the start to finish process since I didn't figure you would want to go through 16 pictures! I used LOTS of scraps and did some random stamping.

Anyway....so here we go....
