Joe was given a project to build some kind of moveable human type character which he made with clay and baked it and named his creation MD21 (stands for motion design class of 21)
Then he had to animate the figure digitally, make the background and props, and make the figure dance.
The layout with the gears is a photograph of MD21 standing on Joe's desk at school.
