For today's projects, I used Fun Stampers Journey DIY Hoops (but you can easily make this project using any type of embroidery hoop.) FSJ's DIY Hoops are sort of like faux embroidery hoops - they're made from lightweight wood, and they're a perfect base for a paper crafted project!
The first thing I did was die cut a circle of patterned paper and adhered it to the back of my hoop. I used the Circle Around stitched circle die - the stitching is subtle on the patterned paper, but it's a fun detail. I added a smaller stitched circle die to the center, along with some die cut holly leaves. I love the stitched details because it ties in so beautifully with the homespun feel of the embroidery hoop.
