Confessions from a former "Hairspray" addict

This is for Merel's Jan Movie Challenge (John Travolta movie title *cant wait to see John in HAIRSPRAY*) and also for Tara's Imperfect Lives Challenge (Jan theme-addiction)

Looking back at some of my old photos is hysterical..I used to get up 2 HOURS before school just to make sure every piece of hair was in its proper place! and you should have heard the fights if my mom got me the wrong hairspray! It had to be LA Looks SUPER MEGA hold or nothing!

Journaling:
I spent many years
battling my addiction.
Trying to quit,
but not being able
to face life without it.
I remember many times
digging for pocket change
just so I could buy more.
If I didnt have it with me
at all times,
I would panic.
I cant remember
the exact day I first
used it or even the exact day
when I was finally able to quit.
I still get the urges,
maybe I always will
but even to this day
its hard for me
to look at pictures
of myself from the mid 80's
to late 90's
and see how
deep into my addiction I was.
