I can only imagine just how hard this was to do. You have made a beautiful LO to remember this journey and hard time in your families life together and the closeness you all share. I love the title work, the beautiful pp you chose and of coarse the sand dollar Sharon helped us make!
Well I felt like crying while reading your journaling Cathe. Beautiful photos to remember this occasion by. You have such a nice close knit family on both sides and I enjoy reading about them all through your layouts.
Cathe, fabulous layout about following Mark's wishes. I got teary eyed reading it. He was so handsome and I can see a resemblance to you. Your journaling is nice to read.
LO for the Jan. 2020 challenge on Rockin Scrappin Grans. Cheryl's challenge was to scrap look back over the year and choose a photo or photos that meant something to you, and tell why. We were to have a square, rectangle and circle on the LO. My triangle is the the banner that says The Story. The circle is the sand dollar. The square I kind of cheated as the photo behind the sand dollar is a square. Journaling: Sending Mark into the ocean was not an easy task. First of all, upon opening the urn, Andie discoveered that the ashes were in a bag. Rick M. and Jean cut the bag and got the ashes into the urn. It was decided that Gabe just couldn't lob the urn into the ocean as planned. We thought it would wash ashore. The next morning we packed into two cars and tried to find a peak to throw the urn into the ocean. We couldn't find a place. We ended up at the Pelican Brew Pub for lunch.-one of Mark's favorite places to eat. The next day we sat around the kitchen table and held our version of a funeral. Andie read letters from their good friends Mike and Barb. There were a lot of tears and some chuckling over Mark's personality. I tried reading a poem I had brought along. but burst into tears. so Lynette read it. Then we all walked down to the bridge. (minus Jill who stayed with her kids because she didn't know how Griff would react) Brother Rick was appointed to drop the urn into the water. Then we solemnly walked back to the house. These photos mean a lot to me. They represent how close our family is and how we come together in need. It also shows how much we loved Mark and wanted to carry out his wishes. (I threw in a picture of Mark healthy) Background paper is Kaisercraft Island Escape. The laser cut shapes of the seagull, shell and seaweed are 49th and Market designed by Dusty Attic The sand dollar I made with Sharon of the Rockin Scrappin Grans when we met in Florida in 2018.
