Beautiful purples, beautiful details: what a wonderful way to start your new project!!! I love the idea of using this to create a keepsake of keepsakes...
so "junk journal" came from literally using junk mail, ie: envelopes, colored flyers, pictures you could cut out of mailers, or even magazine pages. I'm not into that kind of junk journal, but that's where the name came from, and then people took off with it from there, just like PLs used to be very simple, but have become works of art (LIKE YOUR'S!). This too is beautiful, and you will make it a wonderful place to capture your thoughts.
Of course it is in purple, your fave color! Treasure Journal is much better & how wonderful to put into it things from your scrap friends. This truly is beautiful, love the tags. Ladies, the Versafine stamp pad is the absolute best!:)
I like your term "Treasure Journal". I haven't understood Junk Journal either. You have made a beautiful start. What a wonderful list of Thank You's. A lovely way to use the items that you have collected.
I love the term Treasure Journal. That is my goal for this year: to create a journal. This is an amazing start to yours. So beautiful, especially the color and all the little jewels and charms.
I have started my very first Treasure Journal (commonly known as Junk Journal). I'm not sure where the term "junk journal" originated but I have yet to see one that resembles "junk". Therefore, I have given mine the name of Treasure Journal.
Back in October, we had an altered composition book swap and my partner was CJ. We altered the front, back and inside covers. This will be the first page in that book. CJ diecut several tags of different sizes and she made my cover in shades of purple (my favorite). I took one of the largest tags she sent and folded it to make a pocket as you see here. I left the right side free to slide the two tags she diecut on the right. In the next picture you will see that I inked the edges, did some stamping and added trim and bling to the holes. The two tags inside the fold are from Stamperia's Provence collection.
One thing I decided to do with this journal, is to start using up all the wonderful goodies I've received from swap partners since I started swapping about 3 years ago. So, without further adieu, special thanks to:
CJ (CJ's Corner Scraps) for the beautiful composition book and extra tags Marylou (Meggie's Nana) for the Onyx Black Versafine stamp pad, the ribbon that I inked and made into a bow and the snippet of lace under the beaded droplet Carrie (Dear Zae) for the beautiful beaded droplet I've had for a long time! Mary (Abbygirl) for the trims on the fold of the tag and the tag on the left Beth (Rabbit51) for the lace flower Laura (LauralsAttic) for the lace on the top Fran (Quick Silver) for the butterfly charm Jess (Jess E) for the bulb safety pin Robbie (RRBrannock) for the clock charm Marci (MarciLB) for the Heidi Swapp stamp set (I used on the tag inserts) Brandy Johnson (FB) for the buttons along the top
The pearl bling sticker on the tag is from Flair By Me (Facebook)
Base paper is My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Purple Flowers
Butterflies are Reneabouquets.
I hope you enjoy my creation and I am thrilled to get started on this!
