East Meets West - Embassy 4th of July 1980

Residents of the American Embassy in Japan keep up the traditional 4th of July festivities with a twist - incorporating the Japanese bon odori dancers (purely for fun - nothing to do with the actual traditional purpose of the dance). In 1980, my dad (blue and white striped shirt) and I (yellow top) were in charge of the popcorn stand (unfortunately, the pictures, which were dark to begin with, started to fade).
