Haberdashery, don't you just love that quirky and fun word that means anything to do with sewing! I worked on and off for awhile on this folio and finally finished it. Its has lots of tags, journal and photo areas. Measures 6 1/2 ' x 8 1/2 " . I used the Stamperia "Atelier" collection and it took it all! Filled in with some TH as well. It has flips, pockets, tags, journal, accordion album and more. I made this for my dear sweet friend Pam(FritillaryB) for her birthday. She loves collecting buttons, textiles, antique sewing items, and the color Blue. She also loves to make journals so I included one I made to match. The tag of the girl is from The Artsy Store and a gift from another sweet dear friend Marylou. Loved the saying, image and the butterfly which is another favorite thing for her. It was perfect for this project. I used magnets to close shut and it worked just fine until I put everything in it then it would not stay closed. After trying so many things without success, yet another sweet friend came to the rescue (TY Kristine) and that's how the ribbon ended up attached to the outside instead of under the pp. But it was a happy problem to solve because I was able to move my dangle to the spine and add the really cute tiny handle. Everything was aged or tattered. The Sari silk I love that it is all tattered. I died in onion skins and it gave me this beautiful champagne color that I used throughout. I took a lot of photos but did not want to post that many so I collaged them so you could see a lot of details and how the folio works without so many photos. I used many antique and vintage sewing notions out of my stash. The journal has tea, coffee, and blueberry stained pps I hand made. I can not take full credit for this folio. I saw something similar about a year and a half ago on pinterest while at the local library waiting on the kids one afternoon. But I fell in love with it and knew one day I would be making my version of what I could remember. So Please take a journey through my Haberdashery folio and tell me what you think! TFL! I always appreciate the gallery visits!
