The book measures 9" x 7.5" w/o trims and 11" x 8.5" with trims and approx. 2" thick. It is all sewn together with 100% fabric, lace, textiles, doilies, handkerchiefs, and mother of pearl buttons, with 90% of items being antique or vintage. Most being one of a kind pieces. I wanted this book to not be overworked so that it would hold all the things I had made to go into it. The next one... Who knows, LOL! The stick pin on cover was gifted to me by Lori during the RB swap. The bottom pleated trim is from Terry and not sure if it is vintage but was a perfect match for my design! I tried to keep the book itself in a fairly neutral pallet of whites, beige's, and taupe. Everything inside book that is the Prima "Lavender Frost"pp collection is removable. I choose to do it this way so the book could be laundered or the pps could all be switched out if you wanted a different collection. The watercolor photo on the cover of the lg pp Journal inside was my inspiration for my pp choice. It is all about growing, blooming, and blossoming into to most beautiful version of you! The collection is filled with seed packets, garden items and florals. There is a heavy weight canvas fabric in between each page and for the covers for stability and strength. The book contains 10 fabric pages. Included in those pages are 2 lg decorated glassine bags with lg photo/journal tag in ea, 1 lg junk journal, 1 sm journal, 1 waterfall photo folio that holds 13 photos + pocket cards, 1 lg pp magnetic pocket envelope for keepsakes, 1 lace closed flap pocket for pen and journal, etc., 2 decorated blank cards to mail, and 12 various sizes of photo/journal cards that will hold 5" x 7", 4" x 6", and smaller photos, and a few extras. will show inside of junk journal separately. The book took a ton of lace. Sorry I did not photograph a side view for you to see all that. Even with all its age and imperfections in the textiles I am so in love with how this came out!!!
I had been collecting antique linens for quite some time and I knew I wanted to start using them up. While in Colorado last year visiting with our sweet Marylou she showed me a fabric album that Karen(Roosterhead) had made for her and my head started filling up with inspiration. Though mine is quite different, the images of her design has my mind in overdrive with possibilities. I have several others in the works. Each very different than the other. As each one gets finished I will post.
TFL and I always appreciate your visits and feedback!
