Phillipians 4:13. One of my go-to verses. One time I really remember - we were on a cruise ship and in port (Mykonos, Greece I think), we took a small ferry to Delos. No one lives on Delos, its an architectural site. Tenders take people in the morning but last one leaves Delos at 1:00. I have super bad knees, feet and legs and can't walk much. We wandered all the way to the opposite side of the architectural site and then realized we had about 20 minutes until the last tender left and we would be left overnight. It had taken quite a few hours to walk all the way over here. Our ship would live in a couple hours so even if we got a tender back in the morning - the ship would be gone. For me, that was at least an hour walk I had to make in 20 minutes and I was in pain. We started walking as quickly as I could, and I repeated that verse with every step not giving up. Bill couldn't believe it, but we made it. In plenty of time to take our place on the ferry. When I think of that verse, I think about how it gave me the strength to take one more step without wasting time, instead of taking an hour and walking at the speed that was comfortable for me. I credit that verse for getting us back to the tender in time.
