Such a story behind this card, lol! I'm doing the Altenew coloring class with Kelly Latevola and TRYING to do the second week's homework. I don't have the pinstripe background (when I went to buy it, it was sold out), so I used Honey Bee's triple stripe stamp from the background builder to try to get the same diagonal pinstripe effect. I colored in copic markers, struggling to figure out the copic equivalent of the colors Kelly used from the Altenew sets. I don't have stickles so I used Nuvo's crystal drops for the diagonal sparkly lines. Kelly trimmed the bottom of her card front to add a thin black line of cardstock over a white band with the sentiment stamped on it. Well. I cut the card front waaaaay too high up, didn't I? So I decided to stick the whole card front to the card and cover up the join with black glitter cardstock, which looked silly where it was all sad and lonely so I decided to do 2 strips of black and put a strip in between with the sentiment. I thought about vellum (might have been a better call, I don't know) but, in the end, I stamped it on more Neena and colored it in. I'm still not sure this was the right call, or if doing the rainbow diagonally would have been better or would have been too close to the card without matching it (which could have clashed). I still don't know. Anyway, I was NOT impressed with the black glitter cardstock: it's more like rough matt black paper in my opinion. So I used more crystal drops, painted it in lines across the black cardstock then smooshed it around with a craft pick. Then I added some crystal gems and I am done. I'm sure other people could have done it better but, all things considered, I am actually a little proud of my effort. Not perfect but I persevered, I figured out ways around not having the right supplies, and I think it's a pretty card that I'll send someone who was talking on twitter about having the “IsoSads”. Hopefully it will brighten her day.
