The left side of this layout was scraplifted from a layout in a magazine. Unfortunately, since I cut it out of the magazine and put it in one of my inspiration journals, I don't know who to give credit to.

Journaling reads:
"Not many things in life truly surprise me, but this did.
When my grandpa passed away, I called Rick briefly to let him know, but I wasn't able to talk to him in the days leading up to the funeral. On the day of the funeral, as we were preparing for visitation to start, my cousin was looking at the flowers as they were being brought in, reading off the names of the senders. When they brought in this beautiful arrangement and she read the names "Rick and Alayna", I burst into tears. It never occurred to me that Rick might send flowers. I hadn't even told him about the funeral arrangements (where, when). The two of us had had our ups and downs, but at that moment, he was my hero. He had completely caught me off guard in his thoughtful, kind act. Even though he couldn't be there, he had kept my family and I in his thoughts. I knew that, in him, I would have a friend to talk to and offer support when I was ready and I didn't feel so alone. I will never forget this simple gesture that meant the world to me at that moment."
