This posting represents all the men and women who sacrificed their lives to give us the freedoms we enjoy on this day.
The helmet and boots represent all branches of the military. The jets fly in the missing man formation. The silence of the voice and sound weighs heavy on the heart. For many this symbol is quite real.

We are a military family. The battles fought throughout generations does not make any less important to the other. I have memories of my Father John giving several years of his life to battle WWll, 2 uncles in the Korean War. Michael lost his life in Vietnam, Allen Wentworth was buried today, a Vietnam Vet. My son Kevin who served 10 years bravely in the USAF during the Iraq war. There is no end as I believe this world will always be at war somewhere.

On this day I will honor the military branches for the service that has made it possible to maintain the freedoms I enjoy, so we can sleep comfortable, and wake up knowing everything is ok. The veteran who has spent time in battle won't speak of their experience but will forever wear the deep lines of battle in their faces, how they aged more quickly and the ache in their heart that will never cease.
I salute and pray for every lost life in the past and present.
