This is our youngest son Benjamin at the age of 26. The photo on the left hand side was taken at the emergency room visit at our local hospital. The photo on the right hand side was taken at the Urology of Greater Atlanta office in Stockbridge where they did the surgery. If you want to read Benjamin's account of the events, they are at the bottom of this post.

The pps are all from my scrap boxes. Each piece is either matted or inked with navy blue. The red border was cut with Fiskars wide deckle scissors and inked with navy. The title and embellishments are all stickers. Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Hidden journaling reads: "On February 28, 2017, I had worked out and done push-ups. In the middle of the night I woke up with the most intense back pain ever. When I woke up Wednesday morning I felt fine. I thought the pain was due to the workout, so I went on in to work. The pain came back and got progressively worse during the day and was unbearable by the time I got home that night. While driving home, Adam said maybe it was kidney stones. After googling it, I decided he was probably right. After getting home, I laid down until Mama and Daddy convinced me to go to the ER. I told the nurse my pain was a 10 and when they tried to draw blood, I passed out, probably because the guy poked me about 5 times. They did a scan and confirmed that I had kidney stones. After telling me how to try to pass the stones, we were sent home. They neglected to tell me to follow up with the urologist, but did give me pain meds. Thursday I tried to work from home and made it through about half a day. Friday, March 3, the new Zelda game came out with Nintendo Switch. I had been waiting 6 years for this game to come out, and had taken a week off of work in order to play. So, when I wasn’t in pain, I was playing the game. This went on for the whole weekend. Mama talked to a nurse friend and was told that we needed to get an appointment ASAP with the urologist. So Monday, we called and Daddy and I went up to Stockbridge for the appointment. After doing some x-rays, they said they needed to do surgery right then. Hearing this, Mama headed up to join us and got there shortly after they started the surgery. I don’t remember anything past counting down to 97 until I woke up in recovery. After recovery, we headed home, only to be called back because we had left my debit card there. By this time, I really needed to pee. So I rushed in, got my card and headed to the bathroom. I had not been warned about what to expect… I later described it as “a crime scene, but just in the toilet”. Later, at home, Sarah came and asked me to go clean the “kool-aid” off the toilet. :) A week later I had to go back and have the stent removed. Let’s just say that was the most awkward situation of my life.
