Give a Cheer
Give cheer Give a Cheer

Photo of me when I was a cheerleader for our elementary school. I used some really old Basic Grey (Lemonade) for this layout. After I had layered all the papers, I realized that they kind of blended into each other, so I went back and added a thin black strip around all the edges to make it look like it was matted with black. The pink tags are actually paint sample cards from Lowes that I converted into tags. The Waresboro banner was cut with some old QK dies and the letters were stamped using an alphabet stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I punched the scalloped edge with a Fiskars punch. The "cheerleaders" and circa tags were also stamped with the Lawn Fawn alpha stamps. I added some blue Nuvo drops to the banner and to the scalloped edge across the bottom. Journaling was added to one of the paint card tags by printing it on white card stock and adhering it to the card. Journaling reads:

My first 8 years of school were spent at Waresboro Elementary School. Our school had a midget football team and, of course, a group of cheerleaders. We were the Waresboro Martins. Our uniforms were all homemade and were made from deep purple corduroy fabric with a bright gold lining. This photo was taken in 1959 or 60…I’m not positive which year. That’s me on the front row…far right.
