Special memories for sure! Love the title work! Did you cut all the embellies with your Cameo? If so, you're definitely getting in the groove with it! This book will be really special for your grandchildren!
Such a sweet photo and cute page - I took piano lessons when I was young, too - only had one teacher who required us to perform in recitals, ugh... I hated getting up in front of all those people. When my Sarah and Benjamin were taking piano, they had to do recitals, too. They always did great and made us so proud, but didn't really enjoy being the center of attention either. I'm glad Lara was able to find ways to enjoy music all through life... Such sweet memories :)
A simple page to tell the story of how much Lara loved music. The music notes, clarinet, and title were cut with a Silhouette Cameo 3. The treble clef sign was cut with Sizzix Big Shot four times and layered so a journal tag could the added and hidden under the red mat.
Journaling: Lara loved music all her life. She took piano lessons in Monroe, Summerfield, and as an elective in college. The only recital she played in is pictured here. When she refused to participate, her teacher in Summerfield, no longer wanted her as a student. At Ridgedale Academy, she learned to play the clarinet and was first chair in the band. Band was one of her favorite activities and one of the things she missed most when we moved to Summerfield. In college, she took classical piano. Audie loved for her to play “The Rose” and “Music Box Dancer.” Lara could also sing. At their pinning ceremony for nursing school, she and Christy Brownlee sang a duet of “Friends.” Audie and I were so proud of her for doing this in front of a very large group of people. She loved all types of music, singing along with the car radio on trips, and being in her church choir until her health made it difficult for her to attend practice.
