Wow! Awesome journaling! I too am planning on a 9/11 scrapbook. My oldest son was actually due that day, but wasn't born until 9/19/01! We were able to take a trip to NYC in 2003 and see the Statue of Libery. My son was only 2, but he remebers it!
GREAT job on this page. I have an Uncle who live in New York and we used to visit him every year. We would spend a day or 2 in the city and see the sites. I never went in the towers but I have pics of them looking up. What an awesome site it was to see. It is sad that our kids will never get near them and hopefully the Statue of Liberty will alway be standing. Great job on this page. I have a really hard tim watching movie that actually occured. I always have. Love your page.
Great job, I like the way the pictures look foggy, it gives such a great effect when partnered with the journaling and the saddness you feel! I have never been to NYC, even though I live in NY state, but I did see the Pentagon after it happened and that too was awful!
Super LO - I love the journaling. In fact it makes me want to do a similar LO. I used to live in NYC but moved away in 1969. The WTC was only an infant of 6 stories then. I returned in 1984 just to take that express elevator all the way to the top. What a rush and what a view. I, too, feel sad that my children nor my grandchildren will never have these experiences. TFS
Journaling- I turned 18 in New York City while on a youth trip in 1994. The group traveled across the country on a bus from Las Vegas to New York City with stops in Indianapolis, Niagara Falls, St. Louis, and Washington DC. We watched the fireworks from the top of the Empire State Building, visited Trump Towers, saw a Broadway play, went up into the Statue Of Liberty, and took the elevators to the top of one of the twin towers and looked out from an observation area. I don't know now which one it was. It certainly didn't occur to me that one day they would be gone. I took the pictures on this layout with one of those disposable cameras. They certainly aren't good pictures, and originally I wasn't going to use them on a layout. I decided to though, simply because I took them. I saw these places that many people will never see. My children and grandchildren will never be able to see the twin towers and may never be allowed to go into the Statue Of Liberty. I collected a lot of materials to do a scrapbook on September 11th, but I haven't been able to yet. September 2006 was the first time I was okay with watching one of the specials on TV about that day. I bought the two mives about 9/11 but I haven't watched them yet. I didn't know anyone who died that day but I was in the Towers one day in 1994, and it could have been me.
