Journaling- I turned 18 in New York City while on a youth trip in 1994. The group traveled across the country on a bus from Las Vegas to New York City with stops in Indianapolis, Niagara Falls, St. Louis, and Washington DC. We watched the fireworks from the top of the Empire State Building, visited Trump Towers, saw a Broadway play, went up into the Statue Of Liberty, and took the elevators to the top of one of the twin towers and looked out from an observation area. I don't know now which one it was. It certainly didn't occur to me that one day they would be gone. I took the pictures on this layout with one of those disposable cameras. They certainly aren't good pictures, and originally I wasn't going to use them on a layout. I decided to though, simply because I took them. I saw these places that many people will never see. My children and grandchildren will never be able to see the twin towers and may never be allowed to go into the Statue Of Liberty. I collected a lot of materials to do a scrapbook on September 11th, but I haven't been able to yet. September 2006 was the first time I was okay with watching one of the specials on TV about that day. I bought the two mives about 9/11 but I haven't watched them yet. I didn't know anyone who died that day but I was in the Towers one day in 1994, and it could have been me.
