Beautifully captured! I love snakes, out of the 4 species that are found in the UK only 1 is venomous. We have a harmless grass snake visiting our garden regulary, but it does not look as pretty as this garter snake.

Im not really a fan of snakes but they have their place in life. Ive found garter snakes in my garden a few times. Last year I saw two and a third snake...boy he was FAST! Id never seen a snake leap like he did. He had me kinda creeped out but he was doing his best to get away from me so he was more creeped out about me! I later concluded that he was a blue racer. They can be a little aggressive and do bite. Also last year there was a baby rattler just next door. Im always barefoot or wearing sandals in my garden so now Im always on the look out...lol :o)Ro
