Journaling: After leaving the Visitors Center, we took on of the spurs off US 90 to take us to the lake. We found some campsites for dry camping where we parked, and then walked down to the water.
Amistad Reservoir has 540 miles of shoreline in Texas alone. It lies on the USA/Mexico border. It was created for flood control, Water storage, power generation, & recreation in 1969 with the completion of Amistad Dam.
Page 2 strips- Just standing in this one spot we can barely see the other side & this is just one section of the reservoir!
It was a really nice day - sunshine and comfortable temps. Not a great selfie but wanted to include it.
