Wow! Love this gorgeous tag Elizabeth! That green vine reminds me of seaweed, so cool. Fabulous inking and love that mermaids welcome sign. I am crazy about shakers.
Dear sweet Elizabeth reading all the effort and goodies that went into making this special tag for me just warmed my heart. I love that you are always pulling from your stash of friendship goodies, it just makes my tag that much more special. You remembered correctly as I love the ocean and this tag is so magical, I'm over the moon happy with it! Thank you so much for this special work of HEART!
Dawna and I decided to have a private tag swap this month. Speaking of swaps...I will be hosting a tag swap for September and sign-ups will start Thursday, the 20th of this month! So come join in the fun!
Okay, back to the tag....I had no idea what theme I was going to use but I knew I wanted to use some of my Reneabouquets products. I ran across the sweet little Beautiful Board mermaid and the Mermaids Welcome sign in my stash that our Donna (Bonprof) gave me a year or so ago. I remembered that Dawna loves beach themes so I decided to go with that. I recently won the pretty shaker BBoard frame and found the starfish I'd had for awhile also. I have never made a shaker and that was a bit of a challenge for me but I do like how it turned out. Before I put it together I heat embossed the frame with Stampendous Shabby White.
Now for the tag base....I had no papers with that theme so I took some watercolor Paper and inked it up to look like a sunset over the water and beach. Unfortunately, the shaker box covers up some of the colors of the sunset, but oh well. (The tag base was actually a gift from Laura.) After I inked the watercolor paper I gave it some sparkly shimmer using Stampendous Kaleidoscope EP. I also embossed the starfish and sign. I have closeup pictures posted also.
The beads in the shaker are Reneabouquets and some were from Carri (I finally used those up). Carri also gave me the Wow! Lilac Shimmer embossing powder I used on the bottom of the sign. Also used in the shaker were Lime Green and Teal Chunky Glitter Glass, as well as some glass shards and confetti from Brandy Johnson (FB swap).
The mermaid cabochons, charms and Swarovski crystals were from Hobby Lobby. The bird at the top of the shaker is one I stamped and fussy cut out and embossed with Stampendous Kaleidoscope also.
I finished it off with "seaweed" around the border. That was a bit tricky to accomplish!
Anyway, thank you so much for taking a look at my tag for Dawna!! And special thanks to my friends, Laura (LauralsAttic), Carri (Caletts), and Brandy Johnson for sharing your goodies with me! Wish Donna was still here to see it.
