A little piece of home for my brother in Iraq

Basically 3 things went into the making of this card.

1. My brother is A U.S. Marine and is away from home serving in Iraq. I sent him one of my handmade cards and he wrote back saying it made him smile. So now instead of just writing plain letters I am making cards to send him 1/2 the time and plane letters 1/2 the time.

2. My husband was cutting down a tree today which somehow got me to exploring the various plant life in our back yard and garden areas.

3. I recently got a Xyron sticker maker and wanted to see what it could do.

The results of these 3 items cumulated into a card for my brother. The front is made from actual plants and grasses from my back yard. It is also sprayed with candle sheen (candle making is another of my hobbies so I had the candle sheen at home) to help preserve the colors. The colors don't show up in the picture but there is green, purple, white, yellow, and brown in the plants and grasses.

I couldn't decide which quote to use so I used all three because they are all reflective of my brother. In my letter on the other side of the card I am going to explain why I used those three quotes along with letting him know how things are going at home.
