You caught my eye in the gallery with the title. I had to know the story of the dancing pig! It made me laugh. All that hard work for a dancing pig. LOVE all the pig accents and that jean pocket for the journaling was so darn creative. Does he still have the dancing pig? Hahaha!
Amazingly done page! Fantastic design! Your journaling made me upset. Poor Joshua... But he could hide his disappointment and looks happy in the photo.
Aww this is so cute! Love that line of paper with the little pigs on it. Love the pocket with the journaling tag in it. Great title and photo of Joshua. I bet he was disappointed in the prize but how nice he smiled and looked happy when receiving it. How wonderful he collected so many cans of food for those in need.
Pull out story reads: This is Joshua back in July 1996 at our church during Vacation Bible School. This was the summer before he started middle school (6th grade). He was eleven years old. Ms. Linda, the VBS director, told the kids that whoever brought in the most canned goods to donate to the needy would win a really cool prize. Joshua worked hard to collect canned goods to donate. He was determined to win… and he did. To his extreme disappointment, the “cool” prize was this dancing pig. He was also a little mad. Of course, everyone thought the prize was hilarious, except Joshua. He says he remembers Ms. Linda saying that she really didn’t think a boy would win! I have to give him credit though. He smiled and accepted his prize with dignity, and only our family knew how disappointed he was… at the time.
I tried to copy a design I saw on Pinterest - not exactly the same, but close... I cut the pocket and the oink border from pps. The blue check border is a sticker - I used some at the bottom, flipped it and used the remainder for the top of my pull tag. I back the pull tag with a pink and cut the scallops by hand. The blue swirly border is from Doodlebug Design, as is the paper. The title is done with a mix of rub on letters and sticker letters. I used a black zig pen to add the motion lines under the pig, the doodled lines on the side and bottom and the doodled stitching on the heart. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
