Documenting events like this is what scrapbooking is for - recording real life. I am glad that you did this page and I love your hidden journaling. I love the bull and the blood (so realistic). I definitely would not want to do to a bull fight myself.
@T-towngirl - that's such a judicious way of saying it: "Not a sport for everyone!" Indeed. So the red stuff is goosebumps - I don't even know that they make it anymore - I was on their design team years ago and I got some to try out. I hope they still make it because it is a fantastic product!
Yes, this is not a sport for everyone. The worst part is when the “matador “ is attacked by the bull. What did you use for the “blood” that is running down the page. Talk about an effect!
Thanks Tena E.
I can ASSURE you, this is the closest you ever want to be to an actual bullfight. They actually were doing 6 that day. We watched the full first one...started the 2nd, but after about 5 minutes, we looked at each other like: I am done. We have experienced the culture....aaaand BYE!!!!
Fabulous job documenting this, love the hidden journaling, all the photos and ticket...those little swords are too cute but not when you actually know what they're used for. Don't think I would want to see this IRL.
While in Madrid, we went to a Bullfight. What I say in my journaling is that I was very naive...I just didn't realize they actually killed the bull. I brought my SLR camera and saw through a zoom lens something I hope to never witness again. It was savage and horrific. When it came time to scrapbook the event, I almost didn't do a page about the actual bullfight, but I decided as scrapbookers, we pride ourselves on remembering all life's moments...even those that make our stomachs turn, be it figuratively or -- in this case -- literally! So I leaned into the horror of the event and used the red goosebumps gel to mimc blood. I have to say...it was a cathartic experience creating this page and in some way made me feel I was honoring the bull. The journaling pulls out from behind the bull's horn.
