Journaling:

September began with Candi in TN, then Jared joining for Labor Day weekend. She left the 12th, and the 15th we left for Folly Beach and Waters Edge Inn, first stopping at the Angel Oak Tree on John's Island. The tree is 65 feet tall, 28 ft in circumference, shades an area of 17,000 square feet, and its largest branch reaches 187 feet. 400-500 years old, it has survived hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes, including damage from 1989's Hurricane Hugo. Its name comes from the former Angel Estate (Justus and Martha Waight Angel).

Arriving at the b&b around 3:00, we headed to the beach and the [super] waves, then ate dinner at The Crab Shack. Wednesday was rainy, but we enjoyed walking the island and beach and explored Bert's Market. That night we ate for the first time at Bowen's Island restaurant. Thursday we went to the beach again, (the wind was way too strong) and ate at Rita's Seaside Grille. Friday we ate on the deck, a late breakfast from the Lost Dog Café, then set out for home. The rest of the month was uneventful except for making plans to go to CT in October and San Antonio for Thanksgiving and wondering if any of our cruises would make it!

Camera and computer aren't speaking right now.
