I was so inspired by a gorgeous altered file folder that Jess (Jess E) made me for my birthday, I decided to make one for my best friend for her birthday. Although I did not have near the ephemera to add to it and also left off a flipout of three tags that Jess did, I do love how this turned out and really enjoyed making it.
For the bulk of it I used Blue Fern Studios Bird Waltz papers (some of which were gifted to me by Donna (Bonprof) before she passed away. I loved the papers so much, I purchased two full sets and used most of what was left on this project, making cards and layouts previously. I now only have one full sheet (my favorite), a partial one with journaling cards and tons of scraps!!
Okay, for this cover, special thanks go to:
Laura (LauralsAttic) for the lovely wide lace
Jess (Jess E) for the handmade flower
Crystal (Mrs CDJ) for the lace snippets with pearls on them
Robin (RobandTim2) for the pearls
Jess had a fabric bag that she covered on mine, but all I had were little fabric gift bags that had been gifted to me at various times with charms or stuff in them. I chose this one and left it as is because I thought it looked pretty with the papers and the tag I inserted shows the stamps phrase also.
The flying bird was a piece of ephemera from the collection but had a large white border around it that I fussy cut away and raised it up with foam squares. All the "stitching" is from a BoBunny stamp. I used some old scalloped scissors to cut the right and left edges of the background paper. I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet.
The next picture will show all the tags, journaling cards or ephemera in these pockets.
Please feel free to look through all the pictures that shows the inside pockets, flipouts and ephemera I used.
Thank you so much for taking a look at my fun project! I worked on it off and on for a couple of weeks!
