I love the scene you created on the upper half of the lo - it's so cute and showcases the house photo perfectly. Once again your artistry and creativity shine.
I can't believe that's the same house! Wow! Love the overall design...and great job on all that stitching! I just can't seem to make myself do that! LOL! Super cute layout!
What a sweet layout this is. You did so much work on this, cutting the houses and trees from paper, the clouds, everything is perfect. How nice you built a house on your land for them.
Alternating the stitching is such a fun and creative idea! Thank you for the reminder documenting places can be equally important as documenting the people that are in them.
Journaling reads: This is the house that BJ and Dorothy bought around the time Jerry was born. It was the first home they owned. Until then, they had lived with BJ’s parents. They later added on another bedroom, large kitchen/dining area, laundry room and double carport, and bricked the outside. They lived there until 2006, when we built a house for them next door to us.
This was my husband Jerry's home that he grew up in. This photo was taken around 1954.
The corners of the white bg are rounded, as are the bottom outer corners on the colored squares. The four colored squares are stitched with DMC floss. The scallops around the top half of the page are stiched by alternating four colors of DMC. For the clouds, I stamped a bg and then the cloud shape. Then I cut them out by hand. All of the little houses, cars and trees were hand cut from pp. The title and date were done using assorted old stickers from my stash. The grass border was punched. The navy strip under the cars is pp. The yellow strip is ribbon. Both of those were attached using the tiny attacher. Lastly, I added the journaling strips and the stitched banner. Other stamps used, but not listed below are Owl Garden Craft Affair by Hampton Arts and Circle Dots by Stampin' Up. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
