This reminds me of a Paige Evans sort of layout - something I've never ever even attempted. Your page is awe-inspiring. All of those different stitches - good grief! And you're so right, the stitching softens the edges but it's like a subconscious. If you didn't write it, I wouldn't have realized how sharp those triangles would have been. I am just loving all of the layers, textures and colors. Putting in my Favorites!
I love this picture of DD & the kitten. Its so sweet and soft. DF was on the bed too (napping) so it was a total cuddle fest. I was then completely inspired to us it as the inspiration for the 2020 Daily inspiration - October 17 – National Edge Day. The challenge being: "the straight edge lifestyle means refraining from alcohol, drugs, and tobacco, but see if you can go off the edge with your project today. How you interpret that is up to you!" I thought this would be so interesting off of such a sweet and soft picture. Plus it imeediately made me think of the Pinkfresh Studio - Moments That Matter paper I just bought.
I loved all the sharp edges! Agh! But cutting them all out, distressing the edges (oh so many edges), stitching over them and even adding the velum I found a way to make all those hard lines soft and almost quilted. LOVE IT!
Then I new I wanted a quote about home, but it was hard to find a sentiment that was short...I was just tickled to find this one. And how perfect it was a quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder? I cannot imagine a better suited writer for a LO about a little girl and her pet.
I just adore how this turned out. Its probably my favorite LO right now. Thanks for looking.
PS. When I first her Document This LO by Paigetaylorevans, I thought she was nuts!!! Then I totally watched her video to learn the techniques. I don't have nearly the same hours committed to this LO, but I really appreciate her sharing that great idea. Thanks Paige!!
