I want to thank you for the wonderful comments on this card. I have to say it means a lot since this card was for my daughters 18th birthday. I wanted her to have something really special from me and something for her to take to college next year to decorate her dorm room. A way to remember you are loved when away from home. It turned out so well and I think I stunned myself. Thank again for liking it and the supportive comments. It is so appreciated.
Thanks, I can not take full credit for the colors...that goes to Tiffany Solorio...she inspired me with the combination and basic design. Check her out...she is super talented!
Mixed media card for my daughter's 18th birthday. The inspiration for this card has to go to Tiffany Solorio who is amazing and so talented! She was doing a live on her you tube channel and I loved her color combination and technique. So I decided to use it as inspiration for my daughter's card. Basically I used a piece of mixed media paper that I stamped on with an AALL and create stamp and archival ink (background with the trees). Then I used the archival ink through a Tim Holtz stencil and added white gesso to fade it out. Next, I used another AALL and Create stencil with some paper texture paste. Next, I built up the colors with distress inks speckled egg and crackling campfire. I stamped a butterfly and used the distress inks to color it to match. Cut a tree limb with a die, one of the only ones I own. Stamped with black archival ink to add more texture, white distress ink for splatters and tiny text for sentiment.
