PJD, yes you just take a small amount of wax on your finger and rub some off on your mat of palm of hand. You don't want a lot on the tip of your finger and gently rub across the raised embossed areas of the cardstock. You want to only get the raised areas which is why you rub some off so you don't get it all over, if hat makes sense. The wax stands out better on really dark colors, I used it also on the dry embossed mat of the "Wish" card as well.
Another amazing creation! Gorgeous intense purple background! I really like the effect of the metallic embossing powder! And the wax???? Do you just rub it over raised areas to get a shine? Another first for me.....
Mixed media card: this one was from a scrap that I was playing with techniques. So I decided to just mat it and make a card. Basically, I used distress inks to generate the background and then added paper texture paste and some distress glaze and glitter. I don't think the glitter really stayed so will have to try something else to get it to stay on. I did do some stamping with archival ink on the background as well with Tim Holtz stamps. The mat is embossed and prima metallic wax used to highlight the raised areas.
